Dear Cougar Cub Families,
We have an exciting week ahead at China Spring Primary! Our attendance challenge is underway, and every day counts. Help your child’s class reach its goal by arriving on time and attending each day when your child is healthy and well.
With the Heart O’ Texas Fair and Rodeo happening this week, we know many families will be enjoying some extra fun! Please help your child maintain regular bedtimes and morning routines so they arrive rested and ready to learn. These experiences also offer wonderful opportunities to make learning connections—count animals, compare sizes, notice letters on signs, and encourage your child to tell you about their favorite part!
Gifted and Talented parent referrals are now open October 11–22. If you would like to refer your child for consideration, please review the information and referral form in this newsletter. Our School Store Program also kicks off this week! Look for information about the program and how your family can participate.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Lil’ Cougs grow. We appreciate all you do to support learning, healthy routines, and strong attendance!
Your Principal,
Ashlee Duncan

CSP Attendance Challenge: Present Potatoes
Attendance Matters more now than ever! Each day that your child's classroom has 100% attendance, the class will earn a piece to add to their PRESENT POTATO. Once the class has earned all pieces to complete their potato, they will receive a visit from a special guest and a salty snack! If you would like to sponsor a box or two of 20 individually packed chips, please feel free to drop them off at the CSP office. We ask that "hot" or "bold" , nor Takis chips are not provided for our Cougar Cubs. Thank you!

Your Form Submission Matters
China Spring ISD is asking every family to complete the National School Lunch Program Form for the 2026-27 school year. Every response matters. The information helps us have a clearer picture of our school community and make sure we have the resources and programs to support all students. Whether or not your family qualifies for meal benefits, completing the form helps strengthen our district and the services we can provide to students. Your information is kept private. China Spring ISD does not have access to the information you provide on the form. Families only need to complete one application for all students in the household: Complete the National School Lunch Program Form.
School Spirit: Fall Dress Up Days

Shop Online. Support Our School. Share with friends and family!
It’s That Simple!
Did you know that you can support our school without spending any extra money or buying anything you wouldn’t normally purchase?
Our School Store Program is an online shopping tool that allows you to access many of the stores you already shop with. When you make a purchase by starting through the School Store website, the participating retailer gives a rebate back to our school. Think of it like AmazonSmile or Box Tops, you are simply making your normal purchases, but by using the School Store as your starting point. There is no fundraising obligation and no pressure to purchase anything. We are not asking families to spend money for the sake of fundraising. If you are already planning to shop online, simply consider going through the School Store first. The goal is simple: make the purchases you were already going to make, use the School Store as your starting point, and let participating retailers give back to our school. No extra shopping.
No required purchases.
No pressure. Just share the school store with your friends and family so that they can help give back also! Just an easy way to turn everyday online shopping into an opportunity to support our students and school.
The School Store also offers opportunities for students to earn rewards, participate in activities, and win prizes. There are even options to purchase gift cards for teachers, making it a convenient way to recognize and support our amazing teachers while potentially benefiting the school as well. School Store is active all year long so even if you don't regularly shop online, Christmas and birthdays are a great time to use the website.
How does your student start earning prizes without spending any money at all? Sign them up for the school store and then send 8 emails to friends and family. Once you have shared the school store with 8 validated email addresses, you will receive a unique code. Fill out the lanyard and write the code on the line and then send the lanyard back to school. See the video we shared with students by clicking here.

Upcoming Safety Lock Down Drill, Week of October 12
In one week, China Spring Primary will conduct a scheduled lockdown drill as part of our required safety procedures. A lockdown drill teaches students and staff how to respond if there is a potential safety threat inside or outside the building that requires everyone to remain safely secured in classrooms. To help students feel prepared, staff will review lockdown procedures through a classroom presentation and discuss what to expect before the drill takes place. Our goal is to conduct the drill in a calm, age-appropriate manner that helps students practice important safety procedures without creating unnecessary anxiety.
