Dear Cougar Families,

What an incredible turnout we had for Grandparents’ Night! Almost 240 families joined us for an evening filled with games, books, and special memories. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a wonderful success!

As we see an increase in viruses making their way through our building, we need your help keeping our Cougar Cubs healthy. Please monitor your child for symptoms and keep them home when they are ill.

You can also help by practicing these healthy habits at home:

  • Wash hands properly and frequently.

  • Sneeze or cough into an elbow.

  • Maintain personal space with friends.

  • Clean and wipe their own nose appropriately.

Thank you for partnering with us to help protect the health and well-being of our students and staff!

Little Paws, Big Growth! 🐾

Your Principal,

Ashlee Duncan

Parents  interested in learning more about the CSISD Gifted and Talented (GT) program are invited to join us on Wednesday, September 30th from 5:30-6:30pm at China Spring Elementary School, GT room (103).

This meeting is designed for parents (K-5) who would like to learn more about GT services and the identification process for students who are not currently participating in the GT program.

Your Form Submission Matters

China Spring ISD is asking every family to complete the National School Lunch Program Form for the 2026-27 school year. Every response matters. The information helps us have a clearer picture of our school community and make sure we have the resources and programs to support all students. Whether or not your family qualifies for meal benefits, completing the form helps strengthen our district and the services we can provide to students. Your information is kept private. China Spring ISD does not have access to the information you provide on the form. Families only need to complete one application for all students in the household: Complete the National School Lunch Program Form.

Upcoming Safety Drills

  • Week of September 21: Evacuate (Fire) Drill; Secure Drill

  • Week of October 12: Lock Down Drill

This poster is titled "Standard Response Protocol" and outlines safety procedures for different emergency situations in a school setting. It provides instructions for students, staff, and parents to follow during emergencies.

Here’s a brief summary of the main protocols in an accessible format:

Lockdown ("Locks, Lights, Out of Sight"):

Students should stay out of sight, stay silent, and not open doors.
Adults lock doors, turn off lights, and move away from sight.
Hold ("In Your Classroom or Area"):

Students stay in classrooms and continue normal activities until further notice.
Adults close and lock doors, maintaining usual routines.
Secure ("Get Inside, Lock Outside Doors"):

Students return indoors, and adults lock exterior doors while continuing activities as usual.
Evacuate ("To a Location"):

Students and staff follow specific evacuation instructions to move safely to designated areas.
Shelter ("State Hazard and Safety Strategy"):

Safety measures depend on the specific hazard, such as tornadoes or earthquakes, with students and staff following procedures to stay safe.
This protocol helps ensure everyone knows what to do in emergencies, making it easier to respond effectively.

Child Nutrition

Lunch visitors have begun! Lunch visitors must notify the teacher ahead of time so the student is escorted to the appropriate location. Visitors must check in  at the front office with their state issued ID, and must be on the student’s contact list. No exceptions can be made.
