Dear Cougar Cub Families,

We are officially halfway through our first grading period, and what a great start it has been! Our little cougars have been working hard, learning classroom routines, building friendships, and settling into their school routines. We have also almost completed all of our beginning-of-the-year benchmarks, which gives our teachers valuable information about where each student is starting so we can continue to provide the right support and challenges throughout the year.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to help every child grow. We are excited about the progress we are already seeing and look forward to all the growth still to come!

Your Principal,

Bridging School and Home: Easy Ways to Support Learning at Home

You don’t need a lot of extra time or special materials to support your child’s learning. Everyday routines and simple activities at home can help build independence, responsibility, confidence, and important academic skills. This week's focus is Turn Everyday Activities Into Learning.

Learning can happen anywhere! While putting away groceries, ask your child to:

  • Sort items by

    shape, size, color, or type

    .

  • Count items as they are put away.

  • Compare which group has

    more, fewer, or the same

    .

  • Identify letters, numbers, or words on packages.

  • Follow directions such as, “Put the cereal in the pantry, then bring me the apples.”
