Dear Cougar Cub Families,
What a wonderful first week at China Spring Primary! Thank you, parents, for your patience, flexibility, and support as our students and staff have worked together to learn and establish new routines and procedures. We are so proud of the way our little cougars have jumped right in and are already growing!
We invite you to join us for our Parent Information Event on Monday, August 10, where we will provide a brief overview of what to expect this school year. This is not a come-and-go event, so please plan to arrive on time. Presentations will begin promptly at their scheduled times.
As we continue building strong routines, there are a few simple ways you can help your child have a successful school day: a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a consistent morning routine can make a big difference. Thank you for partnering with us as we help our little cougars build confidence, independence, and a love for learning. We are off to a great start!
Little Paws, Big Growth! 🐾

Morning Drop-Off Reminders
As we settle into our morning routines, please take a moment to review the Morning Drop-Off Procedures flyer. For the safety of our students, the front doors open at 7:00 a.m., and students should not be dropped off before staff are on duty.
Please remain in your vehicle while in the car line.
If your child needs assistance getting out, a staff member will be happy to help.
We encourage students who are able to
practice exiting the vehicle independently
. If your child needs assistance, please have backpacks, lunch boxes, and those morning kisses ready to go!
Please do not park in the parking lot to walk your child into the building.
After the first day of school, parents should use the car line and allow staff to help students safely enter the building.
If you would like to walk your child to the front door, please
park at the track
and stop at the glass doors to say goodbye.
We will begin counting tardies this week! Please make sure your child is in the building by 7:50. If you are running late, your child must be escorted and checked in by an adult.
Thank you for helping us keep our mornings safe, smooth, and efficient while also helping our little cougars build confidence and independence!

Morning Drop-Off Volunteers
Help Us Welcome Our Cougar Cubs! We’re looking for parent volunteers to help greet students and welcome our Cougar Cubs during morning drop-off! If you’d like to help start our students’ day with a smile, please sign up here: Volunteer & Greeter Sign-Up Form. All volunteers must complete the CSISD Volunteer Application found on the CSISD website.

Track Pick-Up Begins Monday, August 10
Track Kids” are picked up at the west end of the building by the track. Parents park at the track and walk to the end of the fence with their student’s track sign to pick up their student. Students are “Track Kids” every day of the week for the entire year. “Track Kids” may not become car riders due to inclement weather.
When exiting the parking lot, parents must exit the track parking lot by turning right only onto Bob Johnson (or congestion is not controlled). Any student not picked up by 4:00 pm will be put in the car rider line.
Parents must provide their Track Kids sign every day. If a parent is without their sign, they must first check in to the office with their state issued ID for a temporary sign. You must be listed on the student's approved pick up list to receive a sign. Students will not be released without this sign; no exceptions.
Attendance Matters!
Child Nutrition
Parents, your help is needed! If you plan for child to eat breakfast in the cafeteria the first day of school, please provide them with a name tag that includes their first and last name, and their teacher's name. This can be a sticker name tag, or a slip of paper stapled to the handle of their backpack, what ever means you have to provide this information. This will help out Child Nutrition staff identify your child and ensure they get a proper breakfast.
If you need to add money to your child's lunch account, please visit the School Bucks website here.
The lunch menu can be found here
Dismissal Highlights
Campus dismissal begins at 3:50 PM
Due to dismissal, the cut-off for changing how a student will get home or picking your child up early is 2:45 p.m. After that time, we will not be able to get your child early and they will go home the route they were designated for that day.
All parents who choose to pick up their student(s) will need to follow the dismissal traffic procedures for the safety of each child and for proper traffic flow.
Each vehicle will need to drive through the designated lanes in front of the school. Parents will be directed to pull up to a numbered area where children will meet their parent(s).
More detailed information concerning dismissal can be found on our Parent Back to School Guide
Lunch Visitors
Lunch visitors will not be allowed until August 31. This will allow staff and students to establish appropriate lunch procedures and routines. Beginning August 31, lunch visitors should notify the teacher ahead of time so the student is escorted to the appropriate location. Visitors must check in at the front office with their state issued ID, and must be on the student’s contact list. No exceptions can be made.
