Dear Cougar Cub Families,

We are off and running in our fourth week of school! Beginning-of-the-year benchmark testing is underway, and we appreciate your partnership in helping our students arrive at school every day and on time. Consistent attendance helps students build routines, stay connected to learning, and start the year strong. We also want to celebrate our families who are making attendance a priority!

If your child is ill and needs to stay home, parents may provide a parent excuse note for up to 4 days each semester. Parent excuse notes should be turned in when your child returns to school.

A quick reminder about early check-outs: If your child needs to leave school early for an appointment, please make arrangements to check them out before 2:45 PM. No early check-outs will be processed after 2:45 PM.

Thank you for helping our Little Cougars build strong attendance habits and make the most of every school day!

Bridging School and Home: Easy Ways to Support Learning at Home

You don’t need a lot of extra time or special materials to support your child’s learning. Everyday routines and simple activities at home can help build independence, responsibility, confidence, and important academic skills. This week's focus is Make Reading a Daily Habit.

  • Read together every night

, even if it is just for 10–15 minutes.

  • Ask your child questions about the story:

What happened? Why did they do that? What do you think will happen next?

  • Let your child retell the story using the pictures.

  • Talk about new words you hear while reading.

Bus Riders

As a reminder, students second grade and under are required to have a responsible person of the appropriate age present at the bus stop when they are dropped off. If a parent/guardian or approved older sibling is not present when the bus arrives, the student cannot be left unattended at the stop.If an appropriate person is not present at the designated stop, the student will be returned to their respective campus for the parent/guardian to pick up.

This procedure is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our youngest students, and we want to make sure everyone is aware of the expectations before an issue occurs.

The CSISD Bus Policy can be found on the district website, or directly through this LINK

Track Students Pick-Up Changes

Beginning Monday, August 24, Parents will enter through the large gate entrance and line up on the sidewalk facing the double doors to the building. Parents will then present their Track Pick-up sign and wait for their student to be called. Once a parent has their student, they will exit through the pedestrian gate. Track pick up will begin at 3:50. Any students remaining at 4:00 will be taken to the car pick up and parents will need to move to the car pick up line and wait for their child to be called. This change will provide organization to the pick up process and ensure student's safety.

Morning Drop-Off

Thank you for helping us keep our mornings safe, smooth, and efficient while also helping our little cougars build confidence and independence! Please remember that parents should remain in their car in the drop off line. If you would like to assist your student in getting out of the car, please park at the track and escort your student to the sidewalk.

Visitors must check in  at the front office with their state issued ID, and must be on the student’s contact list. No exceptions can be made.
