Dear Cougar Cub Families,
It’s hard to believe we only have 8 days remaining in the school year! As we begin wrapping up an incredible year of learning, growth, and memories, we want to thank you for your continued support and partnership throughout the year.
Last week, we celebrated our 2026 Summer Fun Day, and our students had an absolute blast! From exciting activities to time spent making memories with classmates and teachers, it was a wonderful way to celebrate all of the hard work our Cougar Cubs have put in this year.
While the excitement of the end of the year is building, these final days are still full of meaningful learning, celebrations, and important routines. Daily attendance continues to matter, and every day counts as teachers wrap up instruction, complete end-of-year activities, and celebrate student growth.
Thank you for helping us finish the year strong by ensuring students arrive at school each day ready to learn, lead, and shine. We are so proud of our Cougar Cubs and all they have accomplished this year!
With Cougar Pride,
Mrs. Duncan

End of Year Class Parties
Watch for communication from your classroom teacher and/or your room parent for specific details regarding your child's end of year celebration on May 29th.
Party Day Reminders:
To maintain safety and security of the building, please do not arrive prior to your child's scheduled party time, and anticipate lines to enter the building. We will do our best to get you to your child's party as soon as possible.
If you are attending more than one grade level's party, please do not arrive at your second classroom before the scheduled party time .
Students may not be signed out prior to 9:30 AM
School age siblings may not attend parties. If you intend to sign out students from multiple grade levels, they may not attend one another's class parties and must stay with their class until they are leaving the building.
Please refrain from bringing large strollers. If a stroller is necessary, please use an umbrella stroller, or something similar.
If younger siblings are in attendance, they must remain with their parent or guardian and be supervised at all times.
Due to space constraints, guests are limited to no more than two per student
Parking is limited. Guests will likely need to park at the track and along the road. Please practice caution.
P.E. and Playground Important Shoe Reminder
In P.E and at recess, students are required to wear proper shoes in order to participate.Athletic or tennis shoes must cover the whole foot, and be secured by laces and/or Velcro. This includes, but is not limited to, running shoes, sports shoes, or Converse.
Footwear such as sandals, flip flops, boots, Crocs, high heels, or backless shoes are not appropriate for school. Without proper footwear, students may slip, fall, get stepped on, or get wood chip splinters or ant bites on their feet. If students lack appropriate footwear and therefore can not safely participate, they will be unable to join the class activity and will have an alternate activity assigned. This is to ensure that all students are safe and keep others safe. Thank you for your assistance in helping us ensure student safety.
Important Safety Reminders: Please Read Carefully
Morning Drop Off : As we are preparing our first graders to move on to second grade, we are working to increase their independence and responsibility. We want to encourage students in all grades to open their door, get out of the car on their own, and shut the door behind them. If students are on the driver side, please do not allow them to exit the driver side of the vehicle. Please stay in your vehicle and someone will come help them exit safely.
Safety Concern: For the safety of all students and staff, we ask that you do not let students out of the vehicle until you are pulled up past the grass line. It is very difficult for drivers, especially those in large vehicles, to see students and staff and we have unfortunately had some very close calls.
Afternoon Dismissal : Car rider dismissal begins at 3:50PM each day and lasts about 15 minutes. If you arrive after 4:05PM, you will need to park and come inside to pick up your child at the office. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe.
Attendance Matters!
Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time (IRT) beginning in April. IRT will be held before school and on non-instructional Fridays.
90% Law: The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.
Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am. Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.
When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse). For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or other formal documentation is required. All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.
Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.
25-26 Bell Schedule
The instructional day begins at 7:50 AM and ends at 3:50 PM. The campus opens at 7:00 AM to begin car rider drop off.
