Dear Cougar Families,
Spring is in full swing, and you can feel the excitement building as we look ahead to a strong finish and the anticipation of summer! As we enter these final weeks, please be sure to pay close attention to the “Save the Date” section of our newsletter, as it is filled with important events and celebrations you won’t want to miss. From special programs to end-of-year milestones, there are so many meaningful moments ahead for our students and families.
Consistent attendance continues to be incredibly important during this time, as every day of learning counts and helps students stay confident and prepared for the next grade level. We appreciate your partnership in ensuring your child is at school, on time, and ready to learn each day. Together, we can make these last nine weeks positive, productive, and full of joyful learning experiences.

Student Egg Hunt
CSP's annual Egg Hunt is coming! The event will be held on April 2, 2026 at the track, and parents may stand on the sidelines to watch. If inclement weather occurs and we are forces to move the event inside, it will unfortunately be a closed event to parents. Each student is asked to provide 12 eggs stuffed and taped no later than Monday, March 30. If you would like to provide extra eggs, it would be much appreciated!
Kindergarten Graduation Photos
Kindergarten Graduation pictures have been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 7. These will be a gift from China Spring Primary School and PTA, so there is no cost to you. Every student will receive a printed copy, as well as a digital copy, so you are able to order additional prints and sizes if you wish. Thank you for your patience as we have needed to navigate the change in photographers.
Child Nutrition
Help us improve your child's school dining experience! Our Child Nutrition team is gathering feedback on food service, menu options, and overall satisfaction. Place take a few minutes to complete this brief brief survey.
Important Safety Reminders: Please Read Carefully
Morning Drop Off : As we are preparing our first graders to move on to second grade, we are working to increase their independence and responsibility. We want to encourage students in all grades to open their door, get out of the car on their own, and shut the door behind them. If students are on the driver side, please do not allow them to exit the driver side of the vehicle. Please stay in your vehicle and someone will come help them exit safely.
Safety Concern: For the safety of all student and staff, we ask that you do not let students out of the vehicle until you are pulled up past the grass line. It is very difficult for drivers, especially those in large vehicles, to see students and staff and we have unfortunately had some very close calls.
Afternoon Dismissal : Car rider dismissal begins at 3:50PM each day and lasts about 15 minutes. If you arrive after 4:05PM, you will need to park and come inside to pick up your child at the office. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe.
P.E. and Playground Shoe Reminder: In P.E and at recess, students are required to wear proper shoes in order to participate. Athletic or tennis shoes must cover the whole foot, and be secured by laces and/or Velcro. This includes, but is not limited to, running shoes, sports shoes, or Converse.
Footwear such as sandals, flip flops, boots, Crocs, high heels, or backless shoes are not appropriate for school. Without proper footwear, students may slip, fall, get stepped on, or get wood chip splinters or ant bites on their feet. If students lack appropriate footwear and therefore can not safely participate, they will be unable to join the class activity and will have an alternate activity assigned. This is to ensure that all students are safe and keeping others safe. Thank you for your assistance in helping us ensure student safety.
Celebrating CSP Staff
Thank you to those of you that have continued to drop off small gifts and gift cards for our staff and teachers!
One of the ways we keep spirits high on our campus is through fun staff competitions and well- deserved recognition. We are currently collecting new small gifts or certificates to use as small prizes throughout the spring semester. Gifts do not need to exceed $5. Donations can be dropped off in the front office. Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage our amazing staff!
Attendance Matters!
Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time (IRT) beginning in April. IRT will be held before school and on non-instructional Fridays.
90% Law: The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.
Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am. Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.
When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse). For all absences exceeding 4,
a doctor’s note or other formal documentation is required. All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.
Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.
25-26 Bell Schedule
The instructional day begins at 7:50 AM and ends at 3:50 PM. The campus opens at 7:00 AM to begin car rider drop off.
Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00AM- 7:50AM.
The first instructional bell rings at 7:50 AM
Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in at the office by a parent
Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
