,

Dear Parents,

As we begin the final nine weeks of the school year, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has flown! This season always brings a renewed energy to our campus. With warmer weather and sunshine greeting us each day, our students are enjoying opportunities to take their learning outdoors, engage in hands-on activities, and soak up a little fresh air while continuing to grow academically.

With summer just around the corner, we are also seeing lots of excitement and anticipation from our Cougar Cubs! While this is such a fun time of year, it is also important that we stay focused and continue reinforcing our school expectations. Consistency in routines, behavior, and effort will help us finish the year strong and ensure a positive, successful end for all students.

In the coming weeks, students will participate in benchmark testing. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to show what they have learned and how much they have grown. We encourage all students to take their time, do their very best, and approach each assessment with confidence. Your encouragement at home makes a big difference!

As always, we appreciate your partnership in supporting learning beyond the classroom. One of the most impactful things you can do is continue reading with your child each day. With the beautiful weather, consider taking a book outside—sit together in the sunshine, enjoy a good story, and make reading a relaxing and meaningful part of your daily routine.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make this final stretch of the school year one filled with growth, joy, and Cougar Pride!

Your Principal,

Ashley Duncan

Kindergarten Graduation Pictures

Kindergarten Graduation pictures have been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 7. These will be a gift from China Spring Primary School and PTA, so there is no cost to you. Every student will receive a printed copy, as well as a digital copy, so you are able to order additional prints and sizes if you wish. Thank you for your patience as we have needed to navigate the change in photographers.

CSISD Education Foundation School Board Forum

The China Spring ISD Education Foundation is hosting a School Board Candidate Forum on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at China Spring Middle School. We want the forum to reflect the issues that matter most to our community, so parents and residents are encouraged to submit questions by Friday, March 27. While we may not be able to include every submission, your feedback will help guide the topics discussed. Please note, submissions are anonymous and the survey is not affiliated with any candidate or campaign. 2026 CSISD Education Foundation School Board Candidate Forum.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

March 27th is one of our designated parent-teacher conference days. If you are interested in a parent-teacher conference, please email your student's teacher to schedule a time. If at any time you have questions about your student's performance, please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.

Student Egg Hunt

CSP's annual Egg Hunt is coming! The event will be held on April 2, 2026 at the track, and parents may stand on the sidelines to watch. If inclement weather occurs and we are forces to move the event inside, it will unfortunately be a closed event to parents. Each student is asked to provide 12 eggs stuffed and taped no later than Monday, March 30. If you would like to provide extra eggs, it would be much appreciated!

Celebrating CSP Staff

Thank you to those that have dropped off gift cards and small gifts for our teachers! We were able to provide small prizes to the winners of our St. Patrick's Day staff competition!

One of the ways we keep spirits high on our campus is through fun staff competitions and lots of well-deserved recognition. We are currently collecting small, new gifts or gift certificates to use as staff prizes throughout the spring semester.

Gifts do not need to exceed $5—a coffee card, small treat, or simple surprise goes a long way! Donations can be dropped off in the front office at any time.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage the amazing staff who pour so much into your children every day. Your support truly makes a difference! 💙

Attendance Matters!

Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time beginning in April. Instructional recovery time will be held before school and on Fridays.

  • 90% Law:  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4,

a doctor’s note or other formal documentation is required.  All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.

25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm.  Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am.  The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.  Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
