CSP Families,
As we begin to feel the signs of spring approaching, there is a renewed sense of energy and excitement throughout our building! This time of year is always special because we begin to see incredible growth in our students — academically, socially, and emotionally. From increased confidence in reading and math to stronger independence and problem-solving skills, your children are showing us every day how much they are learning and growing.
One of the greatest ways families can support continued success at home is by helping establish strong daily routines. A good night’s sleep makes a big difference in helping students stay focused, regulate emotions, and fully engage in learning. Consistent bedtime routines help children come to school ready to give their best effort each day.
Another powerful way to support learning is through conversation. Instead of asking, “How was your day?” (which often gets a quick “good”), try asking meaningful questions that encourage your child to reflect and share more. Some examples include:
What made you feel proud today?
What was something new you learned?
Who did you help today, or who helped you?
What was something that challenged you, and how did you work through it?
What are you excited to learn more about tomorrow?
These small conversations build language skills, strengthen relationships, and help children connect home and school learning in meaningful ways.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we are helping our students grow into confident learners who are ready for all the exciting opportunities this spring season will bring!
With Cougar Pride,
Ms. Duncan

Parent/Teacher Conferences
March 27th is one of our designated parent-teacher conference days. If you are interested in a parent-teacher conference, please email your student's teacher to schedule a time. If at any time you have questions about your student's performance, please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.
Celebrating our Staff
One of the ways we keep spirits high on our campus is through fun staff competitions and lots of well-deserved recognition. We are currently collecting small, new gifts or gift certificates to use as staff prizes throughout the spring semester.
Gifts do not need to exceed $5—a coffee card, small treat, or simple surprise goes a long way! Donations can be dropped off in the front office at any time.
Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage the amazing staff who pour so much into your children every day. Your support truly makes a difference! 💙
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time beginning in April. Instructional recovery time will be held before school and on Fridays.
90% Law: The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.
Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am. Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.
When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse). For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or other formal documentation is required. All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.
Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.
25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm. Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off. Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am. The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am. Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
