CSP Families,

As we wrap up a week full of Valentine’s Day celebrations and kindness, we are excited to lean into the energy of the spring semester ahead! The months ahead are filled with growth, learning, and special experiences for our students, and we are off to a strong start.

This week, students will have the opportunity to enjoy a visit from the Creature Teacher! This engaging and educational presentation is always a favorite and provides students with a hands-on way to learn about animals while sparking curiosity and excitement.

We are also incredibly proud of the progress our students demonstrated during our middle-of-the-year benchmark testing. The growth we are seeing reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the strong partnership we share with our families.

As we continue moving forward, we encourage families to support learning at home by practicing basic math skills and early literacy activities such as letter sounds, sight words, counting, and number recognition. These small moments of practice make a big difference and help reinforce what students are learning each day at school.

This week, try one of these two websites for math talk before bed!

Thank you for your continued support as we grow together. Spring learning is in full bloom at China Spring Primary!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

March 27th is one of our designated parent-teacher conference days. If you are interested in a parent-teacher conference, please email your student's teacher to schedule a time. If at any time you have questions about your student's performance, please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.

Celebrating our Staff

One of the ways we keep spirits high on our campus is through fun staff competitions and lots of well-deserved recognition. We are currently collecting small, new gifts or gift certificates to use as staff prizes throughout the spring semester.

Gifts do not need to exceed $5—a coffee card, small treat, or simple surprise goes a long way! Donations can be dropped off in the front office at any time.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage the amazing staff who pour so much into your children every day. Your support truly makes a difference! 💙

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time beginning in April. Instructional recovery time will be held before school and on Fridays.

  • 90% Law:  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or other formal documentation is required.  All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

  • Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.

25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm.  Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am.  The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.  Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
