CSP Weekly News: Week of October 20, 2025

CSP Families,

This week is all about celebrating kindness, friendship, and the many ways our students show love through their words and actions. Throughout this week, classes will focus on caring for others, using kind words, and showing appreciation for the people who make our school such a special place to learn and grow. Thank you for partnering with us to remind students that Valentine’s Day isn’t just about treats or cards; it’s about empathy, respect, and making others feel valued. We are so grateful for the love and support you show our campus every day, and we are proud to serve such an incredible school community.

Wishing you and your family a joyful week filled with kindness and Cougar Pride!

Ms. Duncan

We are 100 Days Smarter! Celebrating the 100th day of School

Although each grade level is doing something a little different to celebrate the 100th day of school, all students are welcome to dress up with a 100 days of school shirt or outfit. Dressing up is not required. Classroom teachers will communicate any additional information regarding the 100th day through SeeSaw.

Literacy Night

CSP annual Literacy Night is right around the corner and we can't wait to welcome our students and families at this amazing event! There are still a few supplies needed to make this evening a success. Please click on the link below to donate one or more items. Thank you in advance for your generosity! https://signup.com/go/SWYMWcr

Parent/Teacher Conferences

March 27th is one of our designated parent-teacher conference days. If you are interested in a parent-teacher conference, please email your student's teacher to schedule a time. If at any time you have questions about your student's performance, please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.

Celebrating out Staff

One of the ways we keep spirits high on our campus is through fun staff competitions and lots of well-deserved recognition. We are currently collecting small, new gifts or gift certificates to use as staff prizes throughout the spring semester.

Gifts do not need to exceed $5—a coffee card, small treat, or simple surprise goes a long way! Donations can be dropped off in the front office at any time.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage the amazing staff who pour so much into your children every day. Your support truly makes a difference! 💙

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time beginning in April. Instructional recovery time will be held before school and on Fridays.

  • 90% Law:  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or

other formal documentation is required.  All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

  • Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.

25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm.  Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am.  The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.  Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
