thrillshare

Dear Cougar Families,

This week, we are excited to celebrate National School Counselor Appreciation Week and give a huge Cougar shout-out to Ms. Endsley! She is a steady, caring presence for our students and staff, always ready with a listening ear, wise guidance, and a whole lot of heart. We are so grateful for the love and support she pours into our campus each and every day.

We are also counting down to one of our most highly anticipated events of the year—our Barn Dance performance this Thursday! Our students have been working hard and are thrilled to show off their moves. We can’t wait to see families cheering them on and sharing in this fun Cougar tradition.

Finally, we are currently seeking parent volunteers for our Campus Site-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) Committee. This committee plays an important role in shaping decisions that impact our school, and parent voice is a critical part of that work. Your perspective, experiences, and ideas truly matter, and we would love for you to consider serving and helping guide our campus forward.

Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and Cougar pride. It’s a great week to be a Cougar!

With gratitude,

Ms. Duncan 🐾💙

Celebrating out Staff

One of the ways we keep spirits high on our campus is through fun staff competitions and lots of well-deserved recognition. We are currently collecting small, new gifts or gift certificates to use as staff prizes throughout the spring semester.

Gifts do not need to exceed $5—a coffee card, small treat, or simple surprise goes a long way! Donations can be dropped off in the front office at any time.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage the amazing staff who pour so much into your children every day. Your support truly makes a difference! 💙

CSP SBDM Committee Meeting RESCHEDULE

China Spring Primary School SBDM committee meeting will be held in person on February 10 at 4:30 PM. We are still seeking parents to join the committee. f you are interested in serving as a parent representative, please email Ms. Duncan directly at aduncan@chinaspringisd.net.

Members Needed

China Spring Primary School is seeking parent representatives to serve on both our Campus Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Committee and our Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) Committee. We invite you to consider joining us in this important opportunity to partner in guiding our school’s continuous improvement. These meetings will be back-to-back and require about an hour of your time 4 times over the course of the school year

The SBDM and PFE committees play a key role in shaping decisions that impact student learning and campus success. Established under Texas Education Code Section 11.251, the purpose is to decentralize decisions and involve parents, teachers, staff, and community members in improving educational outcomes for all students.

Again, we are still looking for members. If you are interested in serving as a parent representative, please email Ms. Duncan directly at aduncan@chinaspringisd.net.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

March 27th is one of our designated parent-teacher conference days. If you are interested in a parent-teacher conference, please email your student's teacher to schedule a time. If at any time you have questions about your student's performance, please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time beginning in April. Instructional recovery time will be held before school and on Fridays.

  • 90% Law:  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or

other formal documentation is required.  All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

  • Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.

25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm.  Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am.  The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.  Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
