Dear Families,
I am excited to share how proud we are of our students for the growth they have shown on our recent middle-of-the-year benchmark assessments. Their progress reflects their hard work, the dedication of our teachers, and the strong partnership we share with our families. We will continue to celebrate growth, effort, and perseverance as we move forward together. Please continue reading with your child each night and reinforcing the skills they are learning at school.
As colder, wet, and unpredictable weather continues, I ask for your help in making sure students come to school dressed for the conditions. Jackets, coats, hats, and closed-toe shoes help keep our kids comfortable and ready to learn—especially during arrival, dismissal, and outdoor transitions. Please remember to add your student's name to these items and check the lost and found if your child is missing something.
I also kindly ask for your patience and planning during arrival and dismissal on inclement weather days. Extra time, slower traffic, and changing conditions can make these moments a bit more challenging, and your cooperation helps us keep everyone safe. Safety is always our top priority, and we truly appreciate your partnership during these times.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe, warm, and thriving!
Warmly,
Ms. Duncan, Principal

CSP SBDM Committee Meeting RESCHEDULED
China Spring Primary School SBDM committee meeting will be held in person on February 10 at 4:30PM. We are still seeking parents to join the committee. If you are interested in serving as a parent representative, please email Ms. Duncan directly at aduncan@chinaspringisd.net.
Members Needed
China Spring Primary School is seeking parent representatives to serve on both our Campus Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Committee and our Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) Committee. We invite you to consider joining us in this important opportunity to partner in guiding our school’s continuous improvement. These meetings will be back-to-back and require about an hour of your time 4 times over the course of the school year.
The SBDM and PFE committees play a key role in shaping decisions that impact student learning and campus success. Established under Texas Education Code Section 11.251, the purpose is to decentralize decisions and involve parents, teachers, staff, and community members in improving educational outcomes for all students.
Again, we are still looking for members. If you are interested in serving as a parent representative, please email Ms. Duncan directly at aduncan@chinaspringisd.net.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
Students that are at risk of not meeting the 90% attendance law will be invited to instructional recovery time beginning in April. Instructional recovery time will be held before school and on Fridays.
90% Law: The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.
Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am. Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.
When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse). For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or
other formal documentation is required. All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.
Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.
25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm. Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off. Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am. The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am. Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
