CSP SBDM Committee Members Needed

China Spring Primary School is seeking parent representatives to serve on both our Campus Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Committee and our Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) Committee. We invite you to consider joining us in this important opportunity to partner in guiding our school’s continuous improvement. These meetings will be back-to-back and require about an hour of your time 4 times over the course of the school year

If you are interested in serving as a parent representative, please email Ms. Duncan directly at aduncan@chinaspringisd.net. The next meeting will be January 14, 2026 at 4:30 PM

The SBDM and PFE committees play a key role in shaping decisions that impact student learning and campus success. Established under Texas Education Code Section 11.251, the purpose is to decentralize decisions and involve parents, teachers, staff, and community members in improving educational outcomes for all students.

Reminders

MORNING DROP OFF: A friendly reminder to please remain in your car at all times while in the drop off line, and pull up to the farthest person to assist your child. This will help us keep the line moving and allow for cars to move out of passing traffic and off of the street. Additionally, parents that would like to walk their student in must park at the track and use the sidewalk. Parents may not park in the front parking lot during morning drop off; this is a safety concern for both you and your child.

LOST AND FOUND: The lost and found is growing each day. Please be sure to write your student's name on jackets, water bottles, gloves and hats.

JACKETS: Please be sure to send your student with a jacket each day. Weather permitting, students will continue to go outside for recess.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

  • 90% Law:  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or

other formal documentation is required.  All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

  • Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.

25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm.  Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am.  The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.  Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.
