CSP Weekly News: Week of December 1, 2025

Dear Families,

We can hardly believe it is time to turn the calendar to December, and we’re already counting down to Christmas break! 🎄✨ Our campus is buzzing with excitement—hallway decorations, seasonal activities, and special events are all helping build a joyful atmosphere for our students. Please be sure to read this newsletter in its entirety; it is full of important information and sign ups for the next three weeks!

Even with all the fun, we are committed to finishing this semester strong. Please help us by continuing to send your child to school on time each day, encouraging them to follow classroom expectations, and talking with them about what they’re learning. Consistent routines at home and at school make a big difference, especially during this busy season.

We are so grateful for your partnership and support. Thank you for sharing your children with us each day—they are truly the heart of our school. We’re looking forward to a wonderful few weeks of learning, laughter, and holiday cheer as we count down together to Christmas break!

Ms. Duncan

🎄💙 Help Us Celebrate the 12 Days of Cougar Christmas! 💙🎄

Cougar families, we need your help spreading holiday cheer to our amazing staff! As we gear up for our 12 Days of Cougar Christmas, we are collecting donated items to show appreciation for the hard-working teachers and staff who make our campus such a special place.

If you’re able, we would love donations of small treats, snacks, and drinks that we can use to surprise our staff each day. Every contribution—big or small—helps make this celebration extra festive!

📝 If you’d like to donate, please send items to the front office by: Thursday, December 4.
Click on the link view and sign up for items needed.

Thank you for helping us shower our staff with Cougar Christmas cheer. Your generosity means so much and truly helps us make this season magical for those who care for our Cubs every day! 🐾❤️

📚✨ Holiday Guest Readers Wanted! – December 16 ✨📚

It’s that magical time of year, and we are excited to welcome Holiday Guest Readers on Tuesday, December 16! Volunteers are welcome to sign up for more than one time slot if they’d like to read to multiple groups. All visitors must provide a current state issued driver's license. *Please note, we can not guarantee which classes will be assigned to which slots. However, we will do our best to accommodate.

Class Christmas Parties

Please join us for our Class Christmas Parties on December 18th!

To help ensure we have enough space in our classrooms, we must limit attendance to two adults per student. You will receive additional details from your room parents soon. The link below allows you to pre-register to attend the party(s). You may also sign up for a Fast Pass (meaning pre-check out your student) if you plan to take them home directly after the last class party you’re attending.

👉 If you do NOT check students out using the link below, you must leave your student in the classroom and check them out through the front office as you normally would.

Important Reminders:

  • Please limit sign-ups to two adults per student party.

  • All adults must be listed on the student’s Parent Portal Contacts.

  • Strollers are allowed, but no school-aged children may attend with you.

  • Students are not permitted to attend another grade level’s party.

📅 Event Date: Thursday, December 18

Party Times: Pre-Registration Fast Pass Link:

If you have more than one student’s party to attend, sign up for a Fast Pass check out for all your students (you will be given an armband for each) but only sign out the student from the latest party time. Then, come to the office to Fast Pass sign out your student (**SKIP the LINE by presenting that students arm band from their teacher to be called down quickly) or check out students from earlier party times as you normally would. Parents/Guests are not allowed to retrieve students from earlier class parties. We are happy to call students to the office to leave. To ensure the safety of ALL, students should always leave through the office.

Reminders

JACKETS: Please be sure to send your student with a jacket each day. Weather permitting, students will continue to go outside for recess.

LOST AND FOUND: The lost and found is growing each day. Please be sure to write your student's name on jackets, water bottles, gloves and hats.

MORNING DROP OFF: A friendly reminder to please remain in your car at all times while in the drop off line and pull all the way up to allow for cars to move out of the street.

  • If you would like to personally assist your student in exiting the car and steal a final hug and kiss, please park at the track and walk your student to the sidewalk.

  • Staying in your car helps the line move quickly and safely.

  • More families are joining the carline. This is extending the line and taking a little longer to get through. Please plan accordingly.

  • Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off. Please do not drop your student off before this time.

  • The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.

  • Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

  • 90% Law:  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or other formal documentation is required.  All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

  • Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.

25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm.  Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am.  The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.  Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.

LUNCH VISITORS: Parents are now able to join their student for lunch. All visitors must present their government issued ID and check in at the office. Visitors will only be permitted if they are listed in the students' records. While visiting CSP during lunch, please remember:

  • Visitors are only permitted in the cafeteria and may not join students when returning to class.

  • Younger siblings are welcome to join in the fun, but they are expected to follow CSP lunch expectations to ensure safety for all students and staff. We appreciate your help in enforcing this.
