weekly news

Dear Families,

We want to take a moment to say how grateful we are for our students and families. Your support at home makes a huge difference in the success of our school, and we appreciate all the ways you partner with us—whether it’s reading with your child, checking folders and backpacks, or showing up for school events.

This week, teachers will continue focusing on strong instruction and classroom routines so students can finish this part of the semester on a high note. Please help us by encouraging your child to be at school each day, arrive on time, and follow our campus expectations.

We hope your family enjoys a safe, restful Thanksgiving Break filled with time together. Thank you for sharing your children with us—they are truly the heart of our school. 🧡🦃With appreciation,

Ms. Duncan

Brag Tags

Every CSP student received a Texas-shaped CS Primary brag tag to hand on their backpack. As we go through the year, students can earn additional Brag Tags for attendance and showing Cougar Character traits! The fist special Brag Tag was awarded to students who had perfect attendance for the first quarter. Each quarter, students with perfect attendance will also have the opportunity to participate in a Perfect Attendance Party with the Principals! Please remember, our instructional bell rings at 7:50. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.

Reminders

MORNING DROP OFF: A friendly reminder to please remain in your car at all times while in the drop off line and pull all the way up to allow for cars to move out of the street.

  • If you would like to personally assist your student in exiting the car and steal a final hug and kiss, please park at the track and walk your student to the sidewalk.

  • Staying in your car helps the line move quickly and safely.

  • More families are joining the carline. This is extending the line and taking a little longer to get through. Please plan accordingly.

  • Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off. Please do not drop your student off before this time.

  • The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.

  • Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent.

JACKETS: Please be sure to send your student with a jacket each day. Weather permitting, students will continue to go outside for recess.

LOST AND FOUND: The lost and found is growing each day. Please be sure to write your student's name on jackets, water bottles, gloves and hats.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

  • 90% Law:  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

  • Attendance is taken every day at 9:30am.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

  • When absent: Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor’s note or other formal documentation is required.  All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence.

  • Additional attendance information can be found in our student handbook on the CSISD website.

25-26 BELL SCHEDULE: Our instructional school day is 7:50am-3:50pm.  Campus opens at 7:00am to begin car rider drop off.  Breakfast will be available for students from 7:00am-7:50am.  The first instructional bell rings at 7:50am.  Students arriving after this bell are tardy and must be signed in to the office by a parent. Students with excessive tardies will be ineligible to participate in campus attendance incentives.

LUNCH VISITORS: Parents are now able to join their student for lunch. All visitors must present their government issued ID and check in at the office. Visitors will only be permitted if they are listed in the students' records. While visiting CSP during lunch, please remember:

  • Visitors are only permitted in the cafeteria and may not join students when returning to class.

  • Younger siblings are welcome to join in the fun, but they are expected to follow CSP lunch expectations to ensure safety for all students and staff. We appreciate your help in enforcing this.
