weekly news
Dear Parents and Families,

We are excited to begin Week 5 of school! At this point in the year, students have learned classroom and school routines, and teachers are diving deeper into instruction. It’s wonderful to see students becoming more confident, independent, and engaged in their learning.

This week, our focus is on:

  • Building strong learning habits – daily reading, listening, and participation.

  • Staying engaged – teachers are using stations, small groups, and hands-on learning to keep students active and involved.

  • Positive behavior – kindness, respect, and responsibility help create a safe and happy learning environment for everyone.

How you can help at home:
📚 Encourage your child to read every day for 10–15 minutes.
🗓️ Make attendance and arriving on time a priority.
💬 Ask your child to share one new thing they learned each day.

Thank you for your continued support! Your partnership helps our students grow and thrive. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made together and can’t wait to see what this week brings.

With gratitude,
Mrs. Duncan
Principal

Staff Shout Outs: Help Us Celebrate Our Amazing Staff! 🌟

At China Spring Primary, we are so fortunate to have a dedicated team of teachers and staff who work each day to make a difference in the lives of our students. One of the best ways we can lift up and encourage our staff is by sharing the moments—big or small—where they’ve made a positive impact.

We would love your help in recognizing them! Please take a moment to fill out our Staff Shout-Out Form (linked below) and let us know about a staff member who deserves a little extra celebration. Your kind words go a long way in brightening their day and reminding them just how valued they are. 💙

Thank you for partnering with us in building a culture of appreciation and support for our staff!

Volunteers Still Needed!

Volunteers are needed to help welcome students in the morning. If you are interested in volunteering to be a morning greeter and assist with morning drop off, please complete the volunteer form and return it to the front office. Volunteers are needed from 7:00am-7:50am. Whether you are available every once in a while or everyday of the week, at 7:00am or 7:30am, we would love your support. Once your volunteer packet has been received and processed, a staff member will reach out to you to sign up for your available time slot(s). Thank you in advance for your support!

Action Required: Complete Consent form for Nurse, Counselor, Athletic Trainer, and School Social Worker Student Visits

All China Spring ISD Families,

A new Texas law, Senate Bill 12 (SB 12), requires all parents to provide consent before a student can receive routine health-related services during the school day. This law applies to every student enrolled in public schools across the state.

With parent consent, students may receive routine health-related services from school counselors, school social workers, nurses and athletic trainers. Examples of these routine services include:

  • Basic health support such as first aid and injury evaluation

  • Support when students feel sick

  • Administration of over-the-counter and prescription medication in accordance with the law

  • Monitoring of chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes)

  • Heat illness prevention and injury support for student athletes

  • Advise students and their parents on college, coursework designed to prepare students for college, and financial aid

  • Early mental health prevention and intervention

Without consent, schools cannot provide these services, and more, except in an emergency situation when immediate care is necessary to protect a child’s safety. Parents may update or withdraw consent at any time by submitting a written request to the campus

Parents are required to submit the Health-Related Services Consent Form for your student’s campus by September 1.
