China Spring Primary School – Week 3 Update

Dear Parents and Families,

We are officially entering Week 3 of school, and it has been wonderful to see our students settling into routines, building friendships, and growing each day. Thank you for your continued support at home as we establish strong foundations for a successful year.

This week, our focus is on continuing to strengthen classroom procedures and ensuring quality instruction is in place for all students. We are also beginning our beginning-of-year benchmark assessments. These assessments help us better understand each child’s learning needs and guide our instruction moving forward.

We know the start of a new school year can be busy for families, and we appreciate the time you take to support your child’s learning at home by encouraging reading, practicing responsibility, and maintaining strong routines.

As always, our goal is to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Thank you for being our partners in making China Spring Primary a safe, caring, and engaging place for your child to learn and grow.

With gratitude,

Mrs. Ashlee Duncan
Principal, China Spring Primary

Reminders:

Tardies: Beginning Monday, August 18th, any student who arrives after the 7:50 am bell will be counted tardy and will need to be accompanied by an adult to sign them in. For more information about attendance and tardies, please revisit the attendance parents information sheet provided at meet the teacher.

Morning drop off and dismissal:

  • Do not try to pass the car in front of you unless directed to do so by a staff member.

  • Please stay in your vehicle at drop off and pick up. Our staff is there to help, and the lines will move smoothly and safely with you staying in your car. Students are doing a great job being ready to jump out of the car in the morning. Please continue to practice having everything ready. If a student's seat is on the driver's side of the vehicle and they can not move across to exit on the passenger side, please stay in your vehicle and a staff member will assist your student to get out of the car safely.

  • If you would like to walk your student to the doors in the morning, please park at the track and use the crosswalk to the sidewalk.

  • At dismissal, should you need to buckle your child into their car seat, please pull up away from the car line by pulling into a parking spot or into the track parking to assist your child.

  • Our dismissal lines form very specifically to impede traffic as little as possible. If you are entering the pick up line from China Spring Rd, you will remain on the inside, right hand lane and exit right onto Bob Johnson toward the track. If you enter the pick up line from Bob Johnson Rd coming from the track, you will remain in the outside left lane and exit the parking lot to the left to proceed to the light at China Spring Rd. For the safety of all students and families, please do not turn opposite of your lane of traffic.

  • Track Parents, If you do not have your blue student pick up card with you when picking up your child, please bring your state issued ID to the office to receive a temporary card for the day. Students will not be released at the track gate without a school issued card. If you need additional cards, please contact the front office and we will send one home with your student within 2 school days. Please remember that any track student that is not picked up by 4:00 will be moved to the car rider line. Parents will need to enter the line and wait for their child to be called. We do not dismiss students to walk-up parents outside of trach dismissal. The safety of our students is of the utmost importance and we want to ensure that all students get home safely. Thank you for your help in keeping our students safe.

After School Bus Riders: An authorized parent/guardian or designee (designee is defined as a person(s) 7th grade or older) must be at the bus stop to receive students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to 2nd grade. If no one is there to receive the student, the student will be returned to the campus. It is the responsibility of the parent to see that students who are returned to school are picked up. Any student returned to the campus multiple times may have his or her riding privileges suspended. The view the complete CSISD Bus Policy click here.
